Woodbine Bows To Kona Aces
COURT HOUSE - Town Team Tennis at Jersey Cape Racquet Club Dec. 2, saw the Kona Aces upset Woodbine in all events by a score of 40-9. In men’s singles Tony White over Bruce Sicilia 8-2 and in women’s singles Julia Chrietzberg over aren Farbmari 8-1. In men's doubles Bob Sheppard and Boh Ansell
defeated Bill Clark and George Jones 8-0 and in the women's doubles Joan Hughes and Donna MazuVek defeated Debra Mores! and Julia Serrano 82. Woodbine failed to strike back in the mixed doubles when Bob and Evelyn Hughes scored a victory of 8-4 over Tracey Dimmig and Cliff Anderson.

VILLAS- None of the stop signs requested by the" residents of Baysidc Village have been installed yet, but the situation was explained by Mayor TomClydesdale at Monday night’s township meeting. All of the sign locations have been determined and
forwarded to the Department of Transportation in Trenton, where they are"stillinthe works.” The processing will soon be completed, and the stop signs should appear in the near future, the mayor indicated.

AVALON - In the effort to provide something for everyone, the borough Recreation Department has added some new programs to the winter schedule. Recreation director David Haberle has announced Tuesday and Thursday evening classes from 7 to 8 p.m. in dance and workout. This is a program for which there will be a fee. e Every Sunday, the Middle Township Optimist Gub sponsores a Bingo night at 7:30 in Community Hall. For the walkers and joggers who can't fight the cold and wind, the hall will be open for walking and jogging on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Special Events in December include the Holly Ball, 9 p.m. Dec. 13 with The Giff Kollmeier

Head Coach Deb Gifford accompanied by Assistant Coach Karen Shelton, presented Varsity Letters to their team. COACH CLIFFORD paid tribute to her assistant, Karen Shelton, for the valuable help. COACH CLIFFORD had praise for her goalie Barb Simmerman who had a record number of shut-outs and allowed only 8 goals. Wanda Shockley was lauded for her goal-scoring and coming through in the clutch.
Coach Donna Or bam** introduced the members of her championship Girls Tennis Team: Caren Forbes - a sophomore who played 1st singles; Susan Steenland; sophomore, who played 2nd singles; Marlene Clayton; Junior, 3rd singles. The ^ Doubles com binations included Pat Kirwan, senior, and Bonnie Keen, a Junior 1st Doubles and Lisa Petrica. Junior and Kim Pedroni,. Junior, who played 2nd Doubles. COACH ORBANES had pet names for her players and besides the letters’she also gave little handmade towels she had done herself. She also praised the girls for their determination to become better players, and said she had enjoyed coaching them.
