Mango Award Nears Goal
The Joseph Mango Scholastic Award has passed the half way point toward the goal of raising $2,000, reports drive chairman Dr. Robert S. Diamond. Mr. Mango Was a highly regarded teacher in both the Lower Cape May Regional and Wildwood High School systems and his untimely death a few years ago was feK by hundreds of family, friends, former students and associates. “We have organized to create an award in memory of an exceptionally skilled and dedicated teacher/’ Dr. Diamond said. The $2,000 will enable the awards committee to establish) an annual $100 prize to a graduating senior in each high school. Contributions may be sent to:Joteph Mango Scholastic Award, P.O. Judging was conducted by the Commercial Art Class of Vo-Tech School in Cape May Court House. THE ART WORK is to be displayed in various stores in the Cape May City Mall, the North Cape May Shopping Center and Breakwater Plara. Winners were: First place, Nancy Breitbach. Consolidated School; second place, Mary Ftupatrick, Consolidated; third place. Erik Simoneen. Consolidated ; fourth place, Jody Fisher, Consolidated; fifth place, Rowans Rabino, Consolidated; sixth place, Amy Roth, Our Lady Star of the Sea. A trophy presentation was to be held the night of the parade at the Borough Hall.
