COURT HOUSE — Area residents and businesses have new, electronic telephone service now that their phones are served by computerized New Jersey Bell switching equipment. Some 4,600 customers, whose home and business numbers begin with 465, are served by the new system, which speeds calls to their destinations faster than ever before. It also provides customers with special calling services, (designed to make phone calling faster and more
convenient.
FIRST INDICATION of the new service is the
distinctive new dial tone. The system also eliminates the need for customers to dial the “1” prefix when making long distance calls. Equipment in the new switching system establishes connections electronically, about 1,000 times faster than more conventional, electromechanical systems. The equipment also monitors itself constantly, insuring virtually trouble-
free operation.

WILDWOOD — James L. Billmeyer, president of Marine National Bank, has announced Marine’s new
corporate symbol.
It’s a graphic representation of a sloop silhouetted against a clear blue sky. The sails symbolize the bank's close ties to the sea and shore communities. The gaffheaded, traditional rig evokes days ‘gone by, stressing the bank's deep roots in the community,
first put down in 1902.
The new symbol, or logotype as it is called, will also appear in all Marine Bank Communications. The symbol was developed by the bank's advertising agency, Richard Yeager Associates of Moorestown.
