people who worked to moke this tournament successful. THE GIRLS TOURNAMENT proved thafthere aren’t enough good teams to MI the quota for all the holiday tournaments. With Atlantic City, Pleasantville and Mainland Girls playing in other tournaments, the Middle Tourney came up short of talent. With Middle Township ahd Wildwood Catholic winning by such lop-sided scores, it shows that teams like Abeegami and Bridgeton don’t belong in an all-star tour-

BY THIS TIME THE Kiwanis Girls Basketball tournament has come'and gone, and a great many people deserve a great deal of credit for their service First the Kiwanis Club of Cape May Court House under the leadership of President Lou Luteri, performed their duties very efficiently. It takes a crew of about ten men to fill all the posts. But ip addition, the high school personnel donated their services. It requires the presence of a licensed fireman and Sam Brewer and “Slim” the high school custodian did this willingly. THE, JEAN GOODMAN lent her services each night. The Key club managed their refreshment stand.'And Wal Turnler performed Ms Job as Middle TownsMp policeman, as well as Officer Wlllke who was there each night. Fred Grosse and BUI Penman took care of afi the technical aspects and Mr. Rodriquez of the high School staff operated the electric scoreboard. The only paid people were the referees, whose union prevents them from working free. * So a tip of the old sport’s fedora to all these civicminded
And then why do we have to have all these loser’s games. When Oakcrest played Wildwood at 5:30 there were a dozen or so spectators in the stands. MIDDLE BOY’S TEAM IdlT to Pleasantville in the Mainland Tournament. Leading by nine points at one time, they could not hold the lead and went into the consolation round. ' CAREN FORBES OF THE Lady Panthers broke the individual scoring record for Middle Township by netUng 36 points in the fount of Absergami. Sue McKinley held the old record of 34 points.
