S. Cape May (From Page 1) value of the South Cape May area and realizes that with changing land use patterns. important wildlife habitats will not be protected on a longterm basis " The aim of the Service's study is to determine alternatives for protecting and preserving the habitat - which is particularly important since it serves as a stop over point for the high density.of bird life that makes this area of the globe home during the great migratory periods. The tip of the Jersey Cape has been termed by internationally acclaimed experts as one of the greatest birding spots in the entire world THE TWOFOLD PURPOSE of the study is to attempt to describe the wildlife resources and delineate threatened habitat. The spokesperson said that basic alternatives which might be implemented to proact and preserve the area's resources will also be addressed. Basically, there are three alternatives: •Preservation by outright acquisition utilizing government or private conservation resources; •Utilization of land use regulations to protect specific habitats; •No action, in which longterm protection would rely upon existing local ordinances or special legislation or other regulation.
