2 More Wins For Tiger Matmen
by David Weinberg Lower Cape May’s wrestlers ran their record to fl>-2 as they cnoshed Oakcrest 55-6 on Wednesday, then shut out Pleasantville 66-0 at Pleasantville last Saturday. In Oakrest, the Capers won 11 of the 12 bouts, including pin victories in 7 matches, in grabbing their ninth consecutive win. AFTER Jiih Sharpley captured an 8-2 decision in the opening match, the Falcons secured their only victory as Mike Perez pinned Bill Porter with 1:04 left in the third period. From then* on it was all Capers, with Jose Samiengo, Tom Killian, Victor Romeo, and Paul lames adding pins as the Capers jumped to a 27-0 lead. Chris Simonsen added another three points with
an 8-4 decision in the 141 pound bhut, then Mike Taylor secured the Caper’s fifth pin in therl48 pound match. 188 pounder Fred Fischer and Heavyweight Charles Jasperse closed out the match for Lower Cape May, each grabbing pins in the opening seconds of their matches. ONLY SIX Capers had to wrestle against Pleasantville as the Greyhounds gave up six-point forfeit wins in the 101,115,158,170, 18d, and heavyweight weight classes. Bill Porter got back on the winning track with an 8-4 decision, while Romeo and Simonsen also added decision victories. THE CAPERS also included three pins in the romp as Killian, lames, and Taylor all captured six point wins.
