STONE HARBOR - Sturdy Savings and Loan Association depositors earned a record amount of interest during 1960, according to John L. Armour, president. “Thanks to the high interest rates we paid during the year,*' Armour said, "our depositors earned a record $4.3 million interest.” SPEAKING AT the annual meeting of the association, Armour continued, “Our savings balances now total $56.1 million, an all-time high, a gain of $6.2 million during I960' Mortgage loans made by Sturdy last year totaled $5.2 million and now stand at $49.9 million. "Most of

those funds are invested in residential mortgages," Armour stated. “Our commitment to the local housing market remains strong." TOTAL ASSETS of Sturdy Savings and Loan amount to $61.5 million, the highest ever. One of the highlights of 1960 for Sturdy was securing the approval to establish a new office in Lower Township. To be located in Breakwater Plaza Shopping Center at Bayshore and Breakwater Roads, the full service office will open Feb. 19. Rodgers, treasurer and 2nd vice president; John M. Ludlam, conveyancer and Donald A. Giver, attorney. Charles Collett, manager of the Dennisville office, was appointed assistant vice president while Joanne Gray will resume her position as mortgage officer for Sturdy.

ROBERT 80LLENBERGER was named manager of the new Lower Township office. Lenore Donohue was reappointed as head teller in the Stone Harbor office and Sue Bergman as head teller at the Avalon office. Mixner, George T. Harris and Robert C. Wilson were re-elected as directors at Sturdy. Others who serve on the board include: Clarence D. Fisher, Donald A. Gavgr, Carl R. Gratz, John M. Ludlam, and John H. Mead.
