Denver New Rescue Unit President
AVALON - Officers of the Rescue Squad recently elected for the new year arc: Richard Denver, president; Fred Davis, vice president; Ben James, treasurer; Ruth Spencer, corresponding secretary. The squad has received over $13,000 from Avalon residents and organizations, in response to an ap-
peal letter sent in September % The borough has allocated over $25,000 for the purchase of a new fully equipped, four-wheel drive ambulance. This amount will appear in the budget under consideration for the coming year. the Police Department Building which houses the squad's twq ambulances. Comfortable living quarters will be available for members on 24-hour duty during holidays and weekends. THE OPERATING personnel has increased from last year. The members are Kate Meyer. Terry Ripp, Sandra James, James Doyle, Wayne Dean. Penny Deering. Betty Bossuyt, Jim Cox. A new recruit Jo Ann Foley is enrolled in the course for E.M.T. training. This group has handled emergency calls during the present off-season. Additional volunteers will augment the force during the busy summer months. The squad would like to establish a group of local residents to act as a "Booster Club."
