Youthful Volunteers Honored COURT HOUSE - At a special ceremotfy in the new cafeteria of the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Administrator William H. Waldron HJ-— presented awards to i7 area girls who have served as Candy Stripers. Mrs. Jeanne Somers, director of volunteers at the hospital, is also in charge of the Candy Striper program, which is a volunteer group of high school aged girls. AT THE CERMONY special recognition was given to Ruth Ann Kanady, a senior at Lower Cape May Regional High School. Ruth Ann has completed 933 hours of volunteer service and is expected to reach 1,000 hours before she leaves to pursue her studies in nursing at the Beebe Hospital School of Nursing in Lewes, Dela. Presented with bars by Mr. Waldron for 500 or more hours were: Tish Parks and Sylvia Rittweger. for 400 hours; Wanda Feliciano, and for 300 hours and 200 hours was Nancy Baglivo. for 300 hours were Jane Jordan, Debbie Knolls and Ann Njdglee. RECEIVING THEIR pins for 200 and 150 hours of volunteer work were: Diane Colasanti, Wanda Feliciano; also for 150 hours were Angie Garrison, Roxanne Morano and Becky Senior. Girls who have completed their first 100 hours of service received their Candy Striper red and white caps. Receiving their caps were Louise Abate, Laurie Boyd, Liz Ann Cap- . per, Mildred Chestnut and Denise Hickman. The girls all enjoyed "make it yourself” sundaes and fancy butter cookies as a treat for their hours of service. Senior Club Birthday • ' - CAPE MAY The Senior Citizens Club, aj the monthly meeting in Victorian Towers auditorium, celebrated with a luncheon; including a birthday cake. Announcement was made of a trip to the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City Thursday, March 12 by bus, leaving the towers at 12:30 p.m. and returning at 7 p.m. . ’ Anne Zflhora. executive director of the County Office on Aging, will be the speaker, and Dorothy ; Bums with her dance group will entertain at the next meeting, Tuesday. March 10. Vinci Again Heads MUA SWAINTON - John Vinci, Cape May Court House resident and Woodbine trucking company executive. was re-elected chairman of the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority recently. Other officers elected included Robert Anzalone, motel owner from Stone Harbor, vice chairman, Joakim Joanides, North Wildwood businessman, treasurer; Roy Gillian, Ocean City businessman, corporate secretary.
