CAPE MAY - The fivegame championship match for the city Recreation Men's Volleyball League will pit a perennial power and a rookie against one another. . MVP-Riffraff, as expected, defeated the Avengers but had to draw on every bit of their talent and experience to do so. AFTER TRAILING 2 games to 1 in the best of fivfe semi final. Riffraff rallied around the serving, spiking and defense of Rick "Mr Wonderful'' Ferrant^, Bob Jackson, and Ted Ferrante to seal the victory with 15-13 and 15-7 conquests in games four and five. An impressive all-around effort by the entire Avengers team came close lo toppling the MVPRiffraff gang. Ine one of the most shocking outcomes in the

five-year history of the league, * underdog Schramm and Hallman stunned defending champion, Library II after trailing two games to 0. UNDERSTANDABLY. Library III thought they had clinched a berth in the title game for the second year running after bolting to 15-12 and 15-5 wins over an apparently awestruck Schramm and Hallman. After S&H captured game three 15-6 over an obviously relq^d Library contingent, put a hammerlock on the momentum which ultimately carried them through games four and five by scores of 15-10, 15—. Stuart Cohen, Joe flalacz and Tom Roth were catalysts for the Schrammand Hallman giant-killers. THE AVENGERS, will now battle Library III in a five-game set for third

place in a preliminary to the Championship match between MVP-Riffraff and Schramm and Hallman. The Volleyball League is sponsored by the city Department of Civic Affairs.’
