Plaza to Beachfront Inn
License Transfer Sought
CAPE MAY - Application has been mide to transfer a liquor licvfise to the former Tuna Club property at Beach and Trenton Aves. to provide for the serving of alcoholic beverages on the premises of the new Petei^Shields Inn. If approved by City Council, the license would be transferred from its present location in premises next to the Acme in the Victorian Plaza shopping center. MOJADE INC., trading as George and Dragon owns the liquor, license. Principals in the corporation are William Kurtz of Sewell Ave. and Allen E. Taylor and Lois Taylor of Lafayette St. They recently acquired the corporation’s stock from former license holder George
James of Cold Spring. The premises in the plaza isn’t owned by the license holder, and the lease is due to expire this year THE LICENSE holders are seeking to transfer the license to the entire property at Beach and Trenton Aves. including inside the • structure and the land out side. (See. Dolly Stango’s Cape May New* Note* for further information about the Peter Shields Ihn.) The beachfront property is probably best known as the home of the former Tuna Club (of which Mr. James was the last commodore in the late 1950s). In was most recently a private home, and before that was owned by the corporation headed by the Rev. Carl Mclntire.
