County GOP Announces Candidate Preferences

Boro to Allow Beach Picnics

bv M'Ellen Rowland AVALON - Police Chief Joseph E. Foley received the unanimous backing of Borough Council March 12 on repealing the section of local ordinance prohibiting picnicking on the beach. Chief Foley fielded 2 handful of protestants' questions on whether lunches on the beach wouldn’t lead to additional littering. He replied that law-abiding citizens would continue to adhere to the local code while scoff-laws

A bond ordinance appropriating 8291,000. and authorizing the issuance of $276,450. bonds or notes for various improvements or purposes was unanimously approved for final passage upon second reading.
