Needles Is Top Seeded In Playoffs

CAPE MAY - Sol Needle? Agency top seeding for the championship playoffs of the Department of Civic Affairs Junior Basketball League by compiling the best regular-season record. In their final two games Sol Needles cruised by the Golden Eagle Inn 65-56 and subdivided Tolr Realtors 69-57. John ‘Chicken’ Richardson was the lending scorer in both games, tallying 31 and 22 points, respectively. Sean Magee powered in 19 points against the Eagle and 20 more versus Tolz. Paul Cronin fired in 14 points to aid in the win over Tolz. GUARANTEE BANK closed out the season with a flurry as they deposited two more wins into their account. Brian Jones swarmed all over the Lobster House for 51 points and Bruce Fournier. chipped in 15 points as

Guarantee boiled the Lobster House 78-67. Nkk Castellano and Mike Dille paced the Lobster House with 23 and 18. Texas Avenue Market was their next victim in a narrow 76-74 triumph. Brian Jones of Guarantee and Texas Market’s Pat Holden staged an exhilerating scoring battle that Jones finally won 43 points to 41. Scott Small helped out, rifling in 15 points for Guarantee and Claude Wise popped for 14 markers for the Texas Market cause. STANDINGS:

• COURT HOUSE - Hudanich Realty brought their Town Team Tennis record of wins to (H) as they defeated Soens & O’Connor by a score of 40-21 at the Jersey Cape Racquet Club. In men's singles, Hudanich's Mike Mullen started the evening off with an 8-4 victory over Fred Genualdi. Cathy Smith also had an 8-4 victory over Soens & O’Connor's IreneHlgbee in the ladies singles. In doubles action Hudanich Realty secured iheir win, finishing on top in each of the evening’s last three events. Men’s doubles saw the team of Jim Pollzzi - Ernie Yarborough finish with a score

of 8-3 over Craig Soens - Harry O’Connor. Indies’ Doubles finished with an 8-6 victory for Carol Yarborough - Miriam Hirsch over Dawn Connor - Carol Donovan. In mixed doubles action, the team of Ron! Zane — Tony Ferrante finished the evening with an 8-4 victory over Pam Vezin - Robbie I.aw son. Busy Week For Coed Volleyball CAPE MAY - TheXHvic Affairs Department ^gan its 1981 Coed Volleyball season last we<?k as six of the league's 10\teams saw initial action. Potters Pansie^ planted Allegheny Commuter Blue Team 15-2,15-2,15-8 behind - the play of Bill Abadie, Joe Halasz and Marlene Mediuch. Debbie Walker and Gina Browning flew around on defense for Allegheny Commuter Blue. THE RED TEAM of Allegheny Commuter faired a litUe better by winning game two (15-10) in their match with the Inkwell Misprints. The Misprints eventually set themselves right and blotted out AC Red for the match. Cy Gumming*. Sue Fltz and Craig Pilczuk inspired tne Inkwell with their experienced play. EIGHT IS ENOUGH scored barely enough points to defeat the Chosen Few in a contest of evenly matched teams. Eight is enough finally won the war 15-13 In game three after the team had split the two previous battles. Bill Arnold and Robin Hand contributed the key plays for the winners while Bill Garrison and Merc Bauman did like wise for , the Chosen Few.
