Teitleman School recently scored a 1,010 on an SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), principal Jeannette Babbitt told the Lower Cape May Regional School Board last Thursday. Peter Eatroff, of Bayshore West, a participant in the John Hopkins Talent Search, tallied the 1,(M0 on a standardized test administered primarfly to

junior and senior collegebound high school students. The test evaluates a student's verbal and mathematical abiliUes. MRS. BABBITT told the Herald and the Lontern on Friday that Peter's composite score should qualify him to be invited to a special ceremony in Trenton where he would receive special recognition for his achievement. Search.

QUALIFICATION criteria include that the student must be in the seventh-grade, or be of seventh-grade age, and must have previously scored in the {F7th percentile or better on a standardized norm reference achievement test. Teitleman students qualified to enter the Talent Search based upon their scores on the California Achievement Test administered in October. According to Mrs. Babbitt, those students who [ualify for the John lopkins Talent Search are Jven the opportunity to pursue more demanding courses when they enter the eighth grade at Teitleman. Algtebra is offered at the junior-high school add students are permitted to take certain courses at the regional high

EXAMPLE,Richard Weber, last year’s high scorer ih the Talent Search, is presently taking a high school-level honors biology class. Besides Mr. Eatroff, seven other Teitleman students qualified and participated in the Johh Hopkins Talent Search. Cited for their academic achievement were Daniel MacElrevey, Carolyn Morse, James Ebe/le, Gregory Pearce, Francis DiGilio, Patricia Miller and Kim Wells. College-Credit 1 Without Classes?

VINELAND - A free seminar, “College Credit for What You Know,” will convene at Cumberland County College, 7 p.m. April 1. Jules Khan, assistant director of counseling Services, Thomas Edison College, will lead the discussion and will describe the portfolio method of skills assessment for college credit.
