Holy Week Events Set

COURT HOUSE - The First Methodist Church will observe the triumphal entry into Jerusalem at the 10:45 a.m. worship service Palm Sunday. At 7:30 in the evening a play, “Shadow of Truth,’’ will be presented by the Senior High Youth Group. It is open to the public.

COMMUNITY SERVICE will be held at 1 p.m. Good Friday in the Baptist Church, with Rev. Wilbert Hoffman bringing the message. A sunrise service will be held in the County Park, Rte. 9at7a.m. Easter Sunday for the community.

‘Cross, Crown’ Featured

On Palm Sunday

N. WILDWOOD - The relationship of the “Cross and Crown” in the life of Christ and in the experiences of Christians is the theme to be developed by the Rev. John M. Long, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Central Avenue at Second, for the 11 o’clock worship Palm Sunday. Mrs. Jayne Holley will play for the worship hour and for the 10:45 a.m. hymn-sing that precedes it. Memento palm will be given to worshippers. THE CONGREGATION at 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 16 will share in the Disciples’ Communion in the experience of the Upper Room. The pastor brings the meditation concerning “The Other Disciple’’.

On the Good Friday, the congregation will share in the Wildwoods Community Service, 12 noon through 3 o'clock at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Atlantic Avenue at Poplar. Meditations on the "Seven Last Words from the Cross" will be presented by Wildwood clergymen. Open House RIO GRANDE - Open house and registration will be held for the Cape May County Christian School from 10 a.m. to noon Monday and Tuesday, April 27 and 28. The school is located in the elementary school building, Delsea Drive. Classes are available for grades K-4 through 7th.

Holy Week Observance To Start

Jerusalem Entry To Be Dramatized

CAPE MAY - At the 11 a.m. Worship Service of the First Presbyterian Church on Palm Sunday v there will be a special dramatization of Jesua’ entry into Jerusalem given by the Sunday School children. The Rev. Cass Shaw's sermon theme that day will be “King for a Day." Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. ‘An Unwanted King’ Theme RIO GRANDE - "An Unwanted King" will be the theme for the message at the 11 a.m; Sunday worship service by the Rev. Guy L. Rathmcll, pastor of Grace Gospel Chapel. The pastor will speak on "A Misguided Thought" at the 7 p.m. Sunday service. The weekly prayer meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Week will have "Soup and Service." Maundy Thursday offers, a 5:30 Passover Meal for the First Communion Class and their families. At 7:30 p.m. there will be a service of worship In the church for the whole congregation. This will be a service of Holy Communion. ON GOOD FRIDAY evening there will be a 7:30 Tenebrae service. The Easter Vigil, the first services of Easter, is held on Easter eve at 11 p.m.

EASTER SUNDAY, April 19, bekins with a 7 a.m. Sunrise Service on the Beach at 26th Ave. People attending this service should bring something on .which to sit. From 8 to 9:30 on Easter morning, the Lutheran jChurch Women of Holy Trinity will host a breakfast in the Parish House. Then at 10 a.m. finalizing Holy Trinity’s celebration la the Festival Service, with special music and Holy Communion.
