Boro To Estimate

Water Use AVALON — Borough Council on Thursday night is scheduled to consider authorizing estimated water meter readings for local users during half the year. Under an amendment to the local ordinance, water rates would actually be read only twice during the four quarters of the year; estimated readings being rendered the rest of the time. No advance information was forthcoming as to which quarters will be estimated. Unity Plea By Salmon

OCEAN CITY - Preservation and improvement of the tourist industry, protection and encouragement of the fishing industry, and diversification of the area's economic base were stressed by Edward H. Salmon, seeking the Democratic nomination for state Senate, in a speech at the Music Pier here. Salmon, who has served as mayor for Millville and Cumberland,.
