Local residents phoned in pledges totaling nearly $12,000.00, almost double last years total. Over $1,000.00 was collected at the Republican dinner Saturday night and presented by the candidates. At THE CAPE May County Art League, located in the Carriage House on the Physick Estate, the month of May is "Young Peoples" month. Exhibits will be the work of art students, grades 7 thru 12, who attend public schools of Cape May County. Opening will be Sunday, May 10 with awards for excellence given 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23.

QUEEN VICTORIA guesthouse proprietors Dane and Joan Wells at the reception honoring artisans and friends who helped with restoration of the 100-year-old Second Empire-style house. She Is former executive director of the Victorian Society In America and curator of the Molly Brown House Museum in Denver. Colo.
