Mrs. Dorothy Stump, club president, came up with the idea and her telephone committee attempted to contact all the members residing in the area to ascertain .if they would like to start the club's season a little earlier than usual. It was not possible to reach everyone, nor was everyone available to travel because of prior plans, but of those contacted who expressed a desire to go on the trip a few offered to drive their own cars, resulting in a five-car caravan.
