Besides the ‘’student" kids of Middle Township, older "kids" such as Dr. Ted Johnson, superintendent of schools, Mr. Henry Kobik. principal of Elementary 3. and Mrs Charlotte Harmon, principal of Elementary 1. will participate. The bike-a thon is scheduled from 11 to 4 Sunday. April 26. Grouping at the Township Hall (across from the Courity Library), the bike-a-Jhon will proceed down Mechanic St., turn left at Hammond Ave.. right on Hand Ave and left on Westwood Dr. to the home of Mrs. Barbara Dempsey, where refreshments will be served. LOCAL BUSINESSES HAVE donated prizes for high pledge raisers, and first prize is a Schwinn "Thrasher" bike, donated by Bruce Doherty of Hale’s Bicycle. "Charity has a way of coming back to you,” observed Mrs. Peterson, "and we expect this bike-a-thon to reward it participants with the old fashioned town gettogether it will undoubtedly be." Eight Enough Wins Again CAPE MAY - First place ’Eight is Enough’ continued their fine play by smearing the Inkwell 15-5, 15-8, 15-4 behind Donna Sayer and Shep Taylor in Cape May Coed Volleyball League action. Norm Smith was a force for the Inkwell. The hustling Beachcombers buried the ‘Pansies’ of the Potter 15-6, 15-1, 15-5 as Frank Vogel and Fran Vogel served for many crucial points. Tom Roth and Marlene Medluch sparked the Potters Pansies with good bumping and setting. Breakwater Electric', led by Jim Riddle and Fran Dwyer, outvolted Margaret Mary Shop 15-12, 15-5,15-5. Chris Derkas and Jane Menendez contributed excellent play in a losing effort.

Hudanich's Judy Ferrante and Miriam Hirsh from rolling up a score of .8-5 over Debra Moresi and Julia Serrano. In men's doubles Woodbine and in mixed doubles Hudanich won by default.

Volleyball Leaders Double Up

CAPE MAY - The Beachcombers rolled over a pair of opponents in the city Recreational Coed * Volleyball League. Toots Fitzpatrick. Larry Fitzpatrick and Frank Vogel controlled the Beachcomber play as they shut out Allegheny Commuter Blue team and the Margaret Mary Shop. The Chosen Few used flawless serving and solid digging from Bill Garrison and Merc Baumann to flag Allegheny Commuter Red 15-7, 15-2, 15-5 and to leave * the Margaret Mary Shop In

the dust.

CAPE MAY - A men's team sponsored by the city recently placed third in the A-Division of a State Recreational and Industrial Volleyball Tournament held at the Community College of Morris tyTeams from North Jersey, South Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania competed in the annual competition, which draws some of the finest amateur volleyball talent on the East Coast. Cape May played a total of fourieen games and finished with a 6-8 .-ecord to earn an outstanding third place in the tourney’s toughest division. Members of the team were John Wilsey, Rick Ferrante. Ted Ferrante, Bill Arnold, Kevin Beare, Bill Abadie, Dave Placentine and Shep Taylor.
