Vocational Students Winners COURT HOUSE - The year 1981 will be remembered as the year of “Skill Olympic Gold” by the 27 members of the Cape May County Vocational Schools' VICA Club. These students competed at the Skill Olympics sponsored by the New Jersey Chapter of the Vocational Industrial Clube of America at the John K. Ossi Vocational Tedmical Center in Medford. The competition March 27-28 was open to vocational students from the entire state, with 900 students competing in 39 different trade and leadership contests. A GOLD MEDAL was won by Robert E. Dean, a . Middle Township High School student in the CIE Program, for Outstanding CIE student in the state. A silver medal was won by Steve Pavlov, a- postsecondary Electronics Technology student who competed in the Radio and TV Repair contest. Third place bronze t medals were won by Marce Simms, Annette Smith, Regina Jackson, Cindy Bagliva, from Middle Township High School, Robin Hoffnagle, a Wildwood High School student, Donna Bortney, a Lower Cape May Regional High School student, and Kim Ireland, an Ocean City High School student. Marisa DiPasquale received Honorable Mention for Job Interview. FINALLY, THE ENTIRE .Vo-Tech VICA Chapter won a third place in the Outstanding Club competition. In order to compete in that event, a club must document its involvement in leadership development, fundraising, community projects, school service projects, and total dedication to the VICA program. The following students also represented the vocational school in the Skill Olympics: Lisa Watkins, Patti Casher, Kathy McCartney, Lee Tremblay Sherri Lee, Leight Sturdivant, Betty Blount, Lauri Rudnitsky, Steve Lee, Mike DiVito, Dean Abbott, Bobby Harrison, Tim Watkins, Kevin Johnson, Larry Winter, Barry Moore, and Jeanhine Natero.
