Contest Winners Wrote on Freedom

ERMA — Essays written by two Lower Cape May Regional High School students on the topic of "What Freedom of Speech Means to Me," have been selected as winners in this year’s Fleet Reserve Assn.’s annual essay contest. At a special ceremony last Tuesday, junior Colin Bosch and sophomore Jeanette R. Rea were presented $50 U S. savings bond by Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 232 representatives Coast Guard Senior Chief McDermott and his wife.

If they’d let nature do her job. the thing would probably have solved itself. But, I guess those chemical companies couldn't tolerate that kind of common sense. It was the same all over; toxic dumping, illegal filling in of wetlands, radioactive waste rpilling into rivers and streams, over-development of the land, destruction of our wilderness and wildlife and countless other indignities to the environment.
