D.E.P. COMMISSIONER Jerry English, left, arrives at Cape May Point State Park last Wednesday to discuss her proposed tax legislation that, if approved, will allow this park and 10 others to remain open to the public. The commissioner asked area officials to support her request for a 15 cents per cubic yard tax on solid waste sent to state landfills. Revenue generated by the tax will offset a reduction in the park budgets due to the Dept, of Environmental Protection's need to divert funds to a special account to be used for the cleanup of toxic wastes.
