Workshop On Cancer In Childhood

DIAMOND BEACH - Adele Huntdr, R.N., Professional Education Chairman of the CApe May Coun^ty Unit of thfr f American Cancer Society, has announced the fifth annual workshop today (Wednesday) for professionals. The title of this year’s study is Pediatric Leukemia. The workshop at the Holiday Inn will begin with registration, coffee and buns at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a m. Dr. Joseph,Linsk of Atlantic City Medical and Mainland Medical Centers will speak on "Acute Leukemia and its DisdUe Manifestations ip ^the child." y-.X At 10:45,4k Jean Fergusson, MSW. P.N., head nurse of tHw Outpatient Oncology Dept, of Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia, will address the audience on "Children’s Perception of their Stay in the Hospital—Psycological ^Vollowing luncheon, AnVolunteers Enjoy Tour CAPE MAY - Recently an orientation was held for the Women’s Community Club volunteers for the information booth on the Washignton Street Mall. Mrs. Nevin Wampole, chairperson, instructed the volunteers as to their duties. Following tho^iscussion a guided tour o^ppe May and guest houses was enjoyed. Transportation for this tour was provided by the sighseeing trolley from the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts. Mrs. Nevin Wampole and volunteers wish to thank Bill and Peg Madden of the Dormer House, Jay and Marianne Schatz, of the Abbey, JoAnne and Bob Myers of the 7th Sister House, Nan and Tom Hawkins of the BarnardGood House, Carin Redderman and Milly La ConFora of Captain Mey’s Inn, for their hospitality.

The session will end with a film . on Childhood Leukemia and a summary by Mrs. Hunter entitled "The Family Disease” and an evaluation of the days' studies.
