In the summer, a favorite outside spot around dinner is the custom made barbecue pit made from a cast-off coal heater base. Complementing the exterior, the inside of their home is also in a Victorian motif. ''Most of the rooms have wainscoating, most lighting fixtures are of Victorian design, white wicker is prevalent upstairs, most furniture is oak, as are those floors which aren’t carpeted wall to wall in deep, colorful hues. The entire home is bright, airy — and neat as a pin. It is obvious that Bob and Josee love their home and spend a lot of time caring for it, even tho they are plenty busy with other tasks. Bob, who would rather be flying or cooking than waxing his BMW, is president of James Otton Real Estate and captain of the Stone Harbor Rescue Squad. Josee doesn't let a beautiful home and four daughters tie her down completely; saving time to run the Sea Gull clothing store, which she owns, and also serving on the rescue squad where she is chief operational officer. The older Rich children are involved in gymnastics, horseback riding and scouting.
