Dollar Fee For Tax Duplicates

Lower Township residents who lose their tax bills, or request duplicates ' to be made for other reasons, now have to pay the tax collector a $1 fee for such service At its May 27 meeting, the Township Committee unanimously approved an ordinance establishing the fee in an effort to cut down on unnecessary requests for duplicate bills made by local property owners •IT S ONLY FAIR with the trouble the collector has to go thru to make duplicates that we charge this very nominal fee." Mayor Thomas Clydesdale said In other business, the Committee passed a resolution approving that

temporary employees be hired to supervise township sponsored summer recreational activities. The following appointments were made. -Judy Stamberger, swimming instructor, for 20 hours a week at $5.00 an hour. -Ginnie Jordan, recreation aide, for 40 hours a week at $4.00 an hour. Frank Riggitano. recreation aide, for 40 hours a week at $4.00 an hour According to the adopted resolution, employment for tlMjse individuals will end Off Labor Day, if not sooner terminated by their immediate supervisors or by resignation.

Haggerty Exhibit

OCEAN CITY - Rockford Gallery, 406 Asbury Ave.. will present watercolors and oils of the well jmown artist Betty Haggerty Friday through June 24 The artist is a summer resident of Ocean City and spends the winter at her home in the Washington, DC. area. Haggerty is originally from New England, and the love of that area still has an influence in her paintings of old bams and snow. The shore area is equally loved by the artist, as evidenced in her scenes of the ocean and sea gulls HAGGERTY ATTENDED the American University, Corcoran School of Art and Misthk School of Art She has studied -with Gustav Trois, Edgar Whitney and John PiKe. The artist is a member of

the Montgomery Art League, Potomac Art League, Rockville Art League, New Jersey Federation of Artists and the OCean City Cultural Arts Center. There will be a reception for the artist at the gallery, between 8 and 10 p.m. Friday. The public is invited at no charge.

Nova Scotia Trip WILDWOOD - The local chapter of the Deborah Hospital Foundation will sponsor a seven^day bus trip to Nova Scotia beginning Sept. 28. with proceeds going to the hospital. Deposits must be in before June 30. For information, call 884-3110.
