Over 30 boats caught many sharks, including mako sharks weighing up to 280 pounds. ^ ONE OF THE island’s most remarkable families is the George Hallett clan of North Wildwood. Jack Mallet, owner of the Beach Cove Motel, has chalked up over 200 commercials. Actors are paid from $1,000 to $15,000 for each of these blurbs, and Jack currently has them being aired for Hershey Kisses, Bulova Watches, Household Finance, Shafer Beer, Coast Deodorant. Dawn Detergent and Hertz-Rent-A-Car with O.J. Simpson. When Jack unreels movies for his motel guests, he usually throws in a reel or two of some of his tv spots. His father, George Hallett. is daytime bartender at Midtown Lounge. His brother, Jimbo Hallett. has been a Club Rainbow bartender for three year*.

The Hallett’s other son, George Jr., works as a special investigator for Uncle Sam In Health, Wealth and Education. He worked in the White Housi during the Nixon and Ford administrations. WILDWOOD and Cape May friends saddened over the news of the tragic demise of Boris Sagal, longtime producer of the Cape Threatre, America’s oldest summfer theatre that thrived so many years in Cape May. Sagal Was killed in a helicopter accident while filming World War III at Ml. Hood, Oregon. The fouf-hour NBC mini-series stars Rock Hudson and David Soul. Vocation alServices Honored

COURT HOUSE - The county Board of Freeholders proclaimed Gamaliel Broadley of Marmora and James Scrivani of Wildwood outstanding citizens at the Annual Vocational School Banquet. Freeholder Director Anthony Catanoso presented the awards, which ware offered by Freerfolder Jack Bittner and seconded by William Sturm. Broadley, Vo'cational School Board president, has served 17 years on the board and 15 years as president. Jim Scrivani has been on the board 16 years and 15 years as vice president. Both men have had excellent attendance at hoard meetings and have supported vigorously the growth of vocational education in Cape May County. A 10-YEAR PIN for service as a board member was awarded to William Tozour of Avalon by the school superintendent, Robert Toft.

The Vocational School Annual Banquet also honored retirees from the system. Retiring this year are Leonard Williams, custodian, and Elizabeth Pfaff, teacher aide In Foods and Baking. Vo-Tech Principal Dan Money paid tribute to Williams for his 13 years of dedicated service and Susan Smith, Principal of the Career Center, described Betty Pfaff’s contribution to the school during her tenure of eight years. Dr. William Wenzel, Assistant Commissioner of Education, concluded the affair with reflections on the vocational school per sonnel and the prospects of the future for vocational education in New Jersey.
