OCEAN CITY — Motorists and pedestrians are probably attracted by the home of Gordon and Beatrice Sossich at 1425 iWesley Ave. for different reasons. From a distance of the street, it's the beauty of the architecture and exterior appointments that attract the eye. Up

closer, at sidewalk distance, the

flowers and shrubbery surroun-

ding this 1923 Spanish-style stuc-

co home bring second glances. It is obvious the Sossichs, both retired from the federal govern-

ment, enjoy their home and take

a great deal of pride in keeping it a real showplace inside and out. In fact, pictures for more than one wedding have been taken with their outstanding garden as a backdrop. And passersby often snap a shot or two of the flowers during the

peak of their blooming season. While the-exterior—red tile roof, wrought iron railings, open porches and tassled and fringed awnings—is unmistakably Mediterranean; the inside of the home is decorated in contem-

porary and Oriental motifs. Ceil-

ings are high and floors not

covered with rugs are mahogany

or ceramic tile. The numerous windows provide plenty of light and air for the inside plants and floral decorations. And the floral arrangements are outstanding! Both.Mr. and Mrs. Sossich are far from being novices when it comes to having green thumbs. He is a accredited National Chrysanthemum judge, and she is president of the local Garden

Club as well as holding member-

ships in the American Horticulture Society and,Penn-
