THE GEMS of Cape May County are doing it again! On July l, they’ll present The Rockaway Revue's 1981 production of Dretimin in Cape May Conventibn Hall. Time is 3 p.m. For ticket info, 884-2906. The GEMS fs an organization of women from this area, all dedicated to the betterment and advancement of the community, with emphasis towards the youth of today. Proceeds from this event are going to their Scholarship Fund. THE ROCKAWAY REVUE consists of .40 swinging .seniors, all over 60 years of age, the oldest being 80 tbut you’ll never guess who he or she is.) Theylll perform .in a twohour variety show which helps to dispel old sterotypes about aging and reshapes "images of aging." For the past eight years they have been presenting their shows (a new one each May) for the "Benefit of fraternal, social and community organizations, church groups, schools, senior centere and homes. The Revue has appeared in special engagements 1 at museums in New York City and dt Christmas time at John F. Kennedy Interna-

tional Airport. • THE SENIORS participating in the Rockaway Revue say ‘Sve have our aches and’pains, problems and difficulties, but as soon as we get on a stage and the lights come up and thF music begins, problems are forgotten, pain is pushed back and the show goes on.” As an added attraction, there’ll be the music of The Rockaway -Revue. RICHARD HOWARD of West Cape May just recently returned after being in Liberia for two years working there for Manpower Development as an advisor and also for Intelligence as a U S.aide. Richard is the son of Ottier and Octavine Howard of West Cape May. Richard's wife Alixen is a Liberian. Children are daughters Debra, Candice and Daphine. "Now it’s time to help Dad" says Richard as he joins his father doing electrical work about town here. West Cape May will be his home he says from now on, so much so that he’s building.a lovely place for the family to enjoy. Neighbors and family all wish Richard Howard andfamily a warm welcome home. There will be approximately four weeks of various forms of art education under the discretion of- , Connie Sands and Jo Col- • ino, well known art figures • in this area* THE LEGION each year has held contests of an academic and physical nature among the schools in Avalon, Storte> Harbor and Middle Township High Schools. Legion Merit Awards were given to a young girl and boy at the Avalon ElementaYy School and to a young girl at the Stone Harbor Elementary School this past year. Three essay contest awards were given at both schools. In addition three coloting awards were given to pupils in th6 4th and 5th grades at the Stone Harbor Elementary school. -All pupils in these grades were awarded prizes for participation.. For the more mature citizens including the Harbor Seniors dinner events are held during the year at the Legion Home.
