ABBA's most recent album. Super Trouper (Atlantic) ts another strong pop album featuring catchy tunes that work because of their spirited vocals Many might write ABBA off as fluff, but this is a group that understands production values and writes infectious melodies^ Stiper Trouper is sure to please their large following t THE ROULETTES are a relatively new Lfi Angeles based pop-rock group that's just issued their d<Siit album on Takoma/Chrysalis While the group shows potential. y still have a tough time writing consistently strong

There's a sameness to this album that makes it easy to ignore even though this group does have some talent The best thing that could happen to The Roulettes is that they hook up with a demanding producer who could work them into shape THE SAME: thing could be said about Spider Between the Lines (Dreamland) is a prafiising record, but it never fully takes off Again, the problem is inconsistant ongwriting Amanda Blue is an excellent vocaist, who often makes an average song sound better, but if Spider is going to make a name for themselves in rock, they'll have to sharpen their writing chops SYI. SYLVAIN is one person who isn't plagued with such problems His second album for RCA is a sheer delight He freely borrows from rock classics from the fif ties and sixties, yet there is a modem, urban feel to everything Influenced by rockabilly, soul, and pure rock and roll. Syl Sylvain and his band The Teardrops have a wonderful record that deserves to be heard THIS MIGHT be difficult to find, but fans of Adam and the Ants should check out the debut album by England’s Tenpole Tudor iStiff-Import) This energetic four piece pop band write and play extremely well This is teenage music at its purest, and it would be nice to see this album issued on our shores Tenpole Tudor have such a bright, cheerful sound, it s hard®! imagine this group not catching on in a big way ^
