Mechanical Engineering at

Virginia Tech. Susan, 15 (and the

only one of the Unsworth youth

at home when Cape May County

Magazine visited recently), will be a junior next year at OCHS.

Manager of the'golf team, she is also a tennis player and member

of the high school bands and choir. All of the Unsworth children are musically and

athletically inclined.

Their parents, Matthew and Ebbie Poinsett Unsworth keep fit by averaging at least 20 miles bicycling each week around Cape May County.' In addition, Matt enjoys fishing (he was cleaning a mess of blues on the backyard firewood pile the day we visited), gardening and candle-making (supplying the Unsworth home with all the candles). Ebbie, who was Bicentertnial year president of the Ocean(City PTA, is cur-

rentlv president of the OCHS

Band Boosters. She enjoys playing the organ and piano, sewing

and baking up the family favorite, apple crumb pie. Together, Mr. and Mrs.

Unsworth are members of the

Upper Township Historical &

Preservation Society, and Matt

has been helping out with the society’s restoration of the

Friendship School.

The Unsworths enjoy their comfortable, spacious new home on a wooded site away from the hustle and bustle of resort living. “Trailer,” their 14-year-old beagle has also made the transition from seashore sand to inland trees. And nowadays his new companions include the rabbits which find the Unsworth lawn (to say nothing of Matt’s lettuce patch) an enjoyable change of pace.
