cedar trees.

In early April, they lay three reddish brpwn heavily spotted eggs. Incubation, taking up to 38 days, is done mostly by. the female. Young ospreys hatch around the last wepk in May. After the young osprey hatch, they remain in the- nest about eight weeks. If you observe an r^est at this time you can see the adults

bringing food to the young.

During the fall, ospreys migrate to Florida and Central 1

America to spend the winter.

The ospreys in Cape May County aren't as abundant as they used to be, although we have the largest concentration in the state —

approximately 45 active nest.
