New Code Cuts Language Snags

COCRT HOUSE - The National Marine. Fisheries Service in St. Petersburg. Fla., has developed a “Phonic Code System." to, provide a means of communication between,, fishing vessels wfth language differences. A meeting to discuss use of the code system will be held 7'to 10 p m. July 16 at the Holiday Inn on Rt. 37 east in Toms River, it is

reported by the state | Marine Advisory Service through the county Extension Office here. The service believes that all fishermen- should be aware of the code. Since .foreign vessels operate in Xhe U.S. Fisheries Conservation Zone and the possibility.of a gear conflict exists, fishermen are urged to have a copy of the code aboard.

TUCKAHOE - For the first time. Upper Township will fi«M an All-Star team to play in.lhe Little League Tournament, under the charter from the National Little League headquarters in Williamsport. Pa The Upper Township Little League All-Stars, managed by M.O. Brown Jr., will consist of the best players in the Upper Township Little League program, which consists of * six teams. Brown released (he names of the players selected for the All-Star team. They include Joe Daley. Ryan Abbot. Billy MdOaniels. Mike Crudello. Paul Corson. Glenn Casterline. John Carew. Mike Shimp. Greg Kelly. Donald Della Porta. Chris Brown, Charles Boswell, Kevin Whalen and David Thompson. The All-Star games will start the week of July 13.
