by Robert B. Howe South Seaville Camp Meeting is about to begin the 118th year of revival services. By mid-June, a dozen cottagers nave already moved in for the season. The water is flowing and other facilities are in use from May to October. The nostalgia of Camp Meeting in the tiny white cottages with gingerbread trim and limited modern conveniences is dear to the hearts of the faithful. Cottages have one room downstairs and (me up, reached by narrow, crooked stairs. On the back's a lean-to kitchen. Large wooden shutters open much like those on an old.stand. The effect is the same anyway — ;like being outdoors while indoors. It also keeps it from raining in. The little front porch along the dirt foad is a special place.-. From here, cottagers visit with neighbors and with those traveling by. MANY OTHER COTTAGERS have already been here weekends to repdir and fix up. It is a tradition to beautify with potted and hanging plants — especially to pick and arrange the abundance of wild flowers to be found on the roadside On the way to South,

Today few groups come for short stays, using Wright Hall and Oak Hall for dorms and Belford Cox -Recreation for games. In the old boarding house, they served three meals each day during Camp Meeting. Now, there willtbe three Sunday dinners at noon on July 12,19 and 26 arid reservations are requested. ' WHEN ONE REFLECTS upon all the history of the great revival gatherings over the past 100 years, it fills you with a peace that surpasses understanding. The church was one of the main social functions. During July after the crops were planted, the farm work underway, and before the harvest, people flocked to Camp Meeting. The revivals strengthened the growth of the church and religious influence. Some people say we have changed, turning away from religion. Camp Meeting is a force which could help turn us around. Years ago, the train brought
