The student was Laurie Frutkin from Penn Valley — she was vacationing in the Inn with her parents and Laurie and Jean agreed that the Inn beat school all the way. WE WON’T mentioh all the names here but a certain ex-red head cut a mean rug with pretty Lynne Ifaggarty of Paramus, N.J. The food was superb as always but the best thing about the party is that Agnes is out cutting capers again. .

WE HAVE JUST undergone ah humbling experience. On our way home from downtown Avalon the sight of a turtle wnose life span had been tefyninated violently by an auto upset 100 feet more, when we saw a live one making a leisurely trip across Ocean Dr. we pulled to the curb, ran back to Sir Turtle and

bravely directed traffic around the lowly reptile. The cars lessened and we bent to pick it up. As we stooped, the perisher turned on two unsuspected jet engines and reached curbside. It couldn't master the curb and our hearts were still filled with love for creatures great and small so we swooped again. Once more, hisss, zzzwpt and it

eluded us.

THE THIRD Ume in midswoop, a car passed and an uncouth teenage brat yelled "Let the poor thing alone, you old biddy!" All youth is not cruel as we have previously observed and the next vehicle bore a nimble young woman who jumped from her car and rescued the "poor thing” and its red-faced, wildhaired protector. Our spouse did nothing to lift our spirits. When we recounted the incident he laughed uproariously and said "I’d give anything to get the film rights of a turtle out-racing you!" We are admittedly older. A witch—? Perhaps, but an Old Biddy, NEVER! Let those sneaky turtles
