Laws’ Still Pressing in Softball

Men's standings in the Cape May Softbqll League remained basically the same last week with Laws Printing still comfortably in first place with a 22-1 record. The ‘Printers' are unbeaten in.22 games since losing their first game to Kona Sports. x Moist recently. Laws grounded Richardson Air ■Systems, 35-10 ahd Burke Motors, 13-7. ' CARL UMSCHEID slug ged four home runs and 9 RBI’s to lead the attack on Richardsons. John Vogel and John Fuller contributed four hits each while Bill Cook and Joe Rich had three hit games. The Printers rallied from a 6-2 deficit with a 4-run sixth and an 7-run eighth inning to stall Burke Motors. Bill Cdoke and Carl Umscheid excelled with 4^runs-batted-in. Second place Jefferies broke* a fifth inning deadlock with clutch hitting W l?rown Kona, 12-7, and gbin a season split. Jim Riddle and Joe Tomlin connected for three hits apiece for Jefferiek.. Pool Lifeguard, Instructors Hired

N. CAPE MAy - The Lower Township Committee recently apprqved the hiring of two swimming instructors and a lifeguard to work at the municipal pool here this slimmer. Each of the swimming in-

structors will work three 20-hr weeks at $5 an hour Marie, McBride will be emplojk?d from July 6 *to July 24. and Sue Breet from July 27 to August 14 The lifeguard. Eljen Plechner, will work the entire season at a salary of $4 an hour.
