\ WILDWOOD CREST - First United Methodist Church will celebrate its 81st anniversary at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday. Meeting in Borough Hall under the leadership of Rev. Harry P. Grimm,, pastor at the newly built Methodist Cmirch at Anglesea (now the North Wildwood United Methodist Church) and using SO chairs loaned by the owner of the Carrousel, the church began to worship. In May, 1900 the Methodist people at Hollybeach and Wildwood were incorporated into a
church organization at the Church of, Swedish Assembly of Brethren at Hollybeach. THE FIRST BUILDING was erected at Roberts Ave. and Pacific Ave. and the first service was h&d Aug. 12, 1900 with 20 members and 8 probationers. The need for additional space was satisfied with the erection of a larger building at the same site, dedicated in 1927. In 1963, a block of ground was purchased in Wildwood Crest. The parsonage was built there in 1978. On the 80th anniversary, Aug. 10, 1960, ground
was broken for the present building, 6708 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood Crest. The ' past was remembered through the installation of the stained glass windows from the building ^t Roberts Ave. the pastor is Dr/William A. Wenker.

AFTER A YEAR of building activity the First United Methodist Church of Wildwood Crest has almost completed the construction and landscaping of its new church on Atlantic Ave. The new building comprises nearly 8.400 sq. ft. including the sanctuary, fellowship hall, kitchen, classrooms and office space.
