Oh sweetheart, where has the summer gohe? The southward bird migration begins this w^ek. Keep a watch. And also this week we are likely to se**, more meteors, than usual, because the-Earth is at that point in its annual path around the sun where it comes nearest tp.a great flock of little masses of sTOne or metal traveling through space. We attract the nearest of these, and they are drawn irito our atmosphere on their way to the earth s surface. While flying toward us, through outer space, they are invisible. But when they reach our air even its slight resistance causes enough-friction to heat them white hot. Then we can see them. Often, however, they burn up completely. and reach the earth only as fine dust. . This August shower of meteors is a fascinating phenomenon to be watching for. Look to the heavens this week, sweetheart, won’t you, white we cuddle under the

starry skies.
