TWO MONTHS ago we joined the Cape May C6un-i ty Historical Society. It.m headquattered in' the\ beautiful old John Holmes House on the east side of Rt. 9 about 3 miles north of the Court House intersection. We were invited to a cocktail party there last week and were so glad we’d joined. The museum itself is a must for a guided tour. One wonders from one beautifully furnished room to another. ONE ROOM IS full of ontiqTiated medical instruments donated by the' late Dr. Millard Cryder and his wife Mildred, who is still very active in the museum. She serves as a trustee along wilh Mr. and Mrs. George Dawson and others. Members are all dedicted to this slice-of history and most are will-* ing volunteers. Marian Robertson is chairman of the hospitality cbmmittee and introduced uy* 0 her helpers that day: Beatrice Ewing, a Trust#* Mildred Taylor, also a trustee, and many other interesting members. We think it was Mrs. Millard Cryder whb told us she was seeking the donation of a wooden eagle for the flag pole in the charmingly landscaped gardens We met the acting l|irator Somers Corson and his predecessor Ella May Kay. both of whom are responsible for the contagious enthusfosm of the group. (Don’t fail to read the cover stor^ about the museum in this week’s Cape May County Magazine )
