, . ea * e^detvevv ewt> o'/ The Weather We Start to coolCiown in August but it may be hard to notice. Afternoon highs average in thetower 80’s at the shore to the middle 80's inland. Morning lows normally are in the middle 60's at the shore while dropping down to the lower 60's inland. However, a few 90* readings can still be expected, especially in the first half of the month. The county record is 103* on August. 7. 1918 at Belleplain. The Cape May City record at 100* was set on the same date. Rainfall-wise, August averages as the wettest of the year with 4 1/3" at the shore to 5 1/2" well inland. Thunderstorm activity giyes the northern half of the county greater rainfall. Coastal storms (dll in the past we hope!) aided in producing the overalj higher averages.
