7-Mile Beach Home of Nat'l Newsletter On Personal Finance
AVALON — How can you tell when your investment has peaked? Shouldn't you be takirig the highest deductibles you can on your insurance policy? Is it One Mo' Time for the money market
funds arid you?
A new irionthly newsletter published in South Jersey by a young couple native to the area answers theSe 'questions and many others in a unique periodical called Managing Your
Personal Finances.
The unusual publishing venture is the latest in a series of financial advisory services offered by Robert E.C. Wegner, consultant, lecturer, author and former professor who has returned to his native South Jersey. The former Vineland student left the area to earn four degrees and to lecture widely in his chosen fields — on both coasts of the continent — before returning to this comrnunity to establish Wegner Associates, an independent financial planning
and counseling service.
"BUSINESS-PERSONS TODAY are faced with continuing inflation, higher taxes, constantly changing tax laws, a legal maze governing thqir estates and its distribution and an enormous variety of investment vehicles
TlTEftE ARE NO Ads in the Wegner newsletter and he earns no commission — providing a level of objectivity unusual among financial planners.
and insurance products from wjijch to choose," Wegner points_ out. “And, he or she has insufficient time, information and exVerience to manage and increase his or her resources most effec-
tively."
Wegner's wife Renate has left the fields of real estate and of consumer and technical research to help produce the newsletter.'Circulation of the monthly missive is being built nationally behind a barrage of promotion via direct mail lists and is available to (he subscriber for $78 per year. The eight-page periodical js crammed with personal finance strategies and features a section which responds to subscribers' specific questions. A' special feature of the newsletter is an Action Step section following every topic discussed, directing the reader in the ways he or she can take J steps to benefit from the general advice as an individual. , IMPETUS FOR THE newslet ter is Wegner's decade of formal stndy of the field, his 10 years of teaching and counseling in the field of management and finance and the synthesis of a flow of data coming into his shore offices each
day.
Wegner’s finanoial counseling service itself is unusual in that it is supported soley on a fee basis. It sells no products and earns no commissions — providing a level of objectivity which ' Wegner believes is often difficult, if not impossible, for financial planners who must sell products to be
remunerated.
The material offered in the newsletter is a reflection of some of the services of the consulting agency. It offers a complete range of personal finance management advice, including tax planning, savings and investn.^ it counsel, debt analysis, insurance review, retirement planning, estate planning, and budgeting to individuals, small businesses and institutions. Wegner’s work is supplemental to, not in place of, that of other advisors such as accountants and attorneys.
