This month'iLfnll moon, occurring at 9 minutes after 10 p.m. on the 13th, is perhpas the mofet famous—the Harvest Moon. Like most full moons, it provides relatively speaWng, lots of light. It gets its name. then, from the fact that it is during this month the extra brightness comes in most handy in the farmers’ fields' (It’s also a great moon for lovers!) '

The Weather ^ a\>■ *',-3 If you like warm days and cool nights, you’ll love September on the Jersey Cape—the start of those Golden Days of AutUmn at the shore. If brilliant sunrises and sunsets thrill you. this is the month for you. And if you get a kick out of tracking hurricanes, you’ll love September, the month of the June thru November Hurricane Season when these tropical cyclones are most prevalent (if an average of less than 2 per month for the entire East Coast is prevalent). On a more localized note, expect September afternoons on the Jersey Cape to start off in the upper 70s along the shore to around 80 inland aways. As the month closes, temperature will drop to the 70s throughout the county. Morning lows Will be in the uppers 60s at the shore to near 60 inland, ending up at month’s end in the upper 50s on the shore and the lower 50s inland. Rainfall will be fairly uniform throughout (excluding any tropical storm downpours), averaging 3-1/3 inches for the month which brings us Labor Day (7th),\Autumn (22nd), and the Jewish New year (29th).
