COURT HOUSE - Cape May County entrants in the State 4-H Horse Show did -well, with Barbara Schick being named Grand Champion --in Senior Western Equitation. She also placed sixth in Senior Western
Riding.
Kathleen Sturm was the Reserve Champion in Growing and Training Western Halter Mares and placed eighth in Senior Showmanship and Grooming. Karen Kapp took fifth in Western Pleasure Pony and " tenth in Junior Western Pleasure. Lori Weyand placed eighth in Senior Western Riding and Lisa Scheid was sixth in Reining, stated Carol Manger, 4-H program

IN THE ENGLISH division, Tracy Adampyk won fourth in Handy' Working Hunter Pony and fifth in

Hunter Hack Pony, Working Hunter Pony and Senior Hunt Seat Equitation over .fences. Tracy also won the contest for designing a jump course for the Senior Hunt Seat Equitation overfences class. Karen Rothenbiller placed sixth in Senior English Pleasure Horse, seventh in Hunter Hack Hbrse and >Senior English Halter Hortfe, ninth in Senior Hunt Seat Equitation over fences, and tenth irt Senior Showmanship and Grooming. Because of their generous commitment to the 4-H Livestock program the average price per pound for hogs was $1.54 and $4.28 for the sheep. As an added bonus, Missy Rea entered her ewe in the State 4-H Blue Ribbon Lamb Show and placed second in her division, quite an accomplishment
at the state level.

Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife reminds hunters they had better get their licenses soon, for the first of the major fall hunting seasons is only a few weeks away. The season for crows, rails and gallinules
is already underway. On Sept. 26 the bow and
arrow season for either sex deer opens and runs through Nov.5. Snipe season oftens, in both the north and south zones on Oct. 2 and goes through Oct. 31. The second season runs from Nov. 29 through
Jan. 23.
WOODCOCK SEASON opens in the north zone Oct. 3 and runs through Nov. 26. In the south zone, the woodcock season is split, with the opehing date of Oct. 24 through Dec. 5, and again from Dec. 18 through Dec.
29.
The ruffed grouse season opens in the horth zone Oct. 3 and runs through Dec. 5. A second season opens Dec. 14 and goes through Feb. 6, except for closed dates Nov. 6 and Dec. 16. In the south zone, the ruffed grouse season dates are Oct. 24 through Dec. 5, and Dec. 14 through Feb'. 6. Raccoon and oppossum hunting starts Oct. 3 and ends March 1.
