The hawk watch monitors the largest hawk migration in North America and has served as a prototype for watches at other sites in the U.S. Hawk-banding demonstrations will also be given at the state park at 10 a.m., Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 through Nov. l, except for Oct. 3 and 4. LECTURES AND SLIDE presentations will be Offered at 8 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium of the Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 on Yale Ave. by authorities Dave Ward, "Operation Sea Watch,” Sept. 19; Pete Dunne, "Calidria canutus and Kings; Spring Shorebirds of the Delaware Bay Shore,” Sept. 26;.N.J Raptor Association, "New Jersey’s Birds of Prey," Oct. 10; and John Kricher, “The Importance of Cape May Habitat to Birds." Oct. 17. Bird walks highlighting migratory species will be conducted on Wednesday and Saturday mprnings during September and October, except Oct. 3. Par-

ticipants should bring binoculars and field guides and meet leaders at 7 a m. at the north shore of Lily Lake. CM BO WILL HOST the 38th annual Cape May Nature Weekend for the New Jersey Audubon Society, Oct. 2, 3, and 4. The weekend offers pelagic and Intra-coastal Waterway boat trips; birding and botany field trips; beach, salt marsh, evening sky, and owl walks; demonstrations and workshops; and evening programs. Two "Seven Days in Cape May" workshops for birders who want to refine their field identification skills will.be offered Sept. 20-26 and Oct. 11-17.
