ON TUBS, the Women’s Civic Club of Stone Harbor held their end of the summer season luncheon at Ram’s Head Inn. Cars gathered at the club to transport the'* 38 participants arid Vicl Weaf (Mr». Duke) arranged the logistics so the event was flawless. Mrs. Frank Smith (Ellie) gets the Credit of keeping track of. 1'addition at our table and faying the final tally for ev%yone. The group whs amused to find Kurt Knowles, son of the owner of Ram’s Head eating a Hoagie in the corner. Such superlative food could possibley get overwhelming to the young but for us it was a rare treat. The Ram’s Head is one of the few restaurants left that exclude elegance. The food is delicious, the ambience lovely. Fine crystal, huge napkins in individual rings, King Pattern flatware, impressive china and even lemon wedges wrapped in linie mesh con-
tribute to the special feeling of luxury. The pastry cart is tempting to the most
vigilant dieter.
After eating we
journeyed to the House of Renault for a tour of the winery and it’s sparkling museum of crystal goblets collected from all of’er the world. Linda l^fcNally — our guide — gave us aU sorts of information as To why wine should Always be stored on it’s side, the best
device for removing corks, etc. she had a witty pi
tation as well
i She introduced us
' winemaster, Emo Lem* roetti whose picture we spotted emerging from a gigiantic cask following an inspection after Its cleaning. Fortunately, this preceded our wine tasting * because he bore a striking resemblance to a present political incumbent, and the ensuing giggles exceeded the decibels set for noise
I’m sure.

winteY social season got off to a theatrical start on Sept. 12 when Marcelle and Ray DeLaurentls, of 8201 2nd Ave. gave their annual cocktail and buffet dinner part^ before ‘the Miss America Pageant in A.d. Only this year there was a local eiemination contest precedirig the main event. Sara Brady of &2nd St. marched down the runway, backed by the strains of the full orchestra to become Mias. America arid there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as she was crowned. The DeLaurentis* daughter, Bunny King, won First Runner-up. Bunny who doesn’t looktmore than 18 is gorgeous and we can’t help but feel it was Sara's tremendous score in the talent division which gave her the winning edge. This was Teally a hilarious party and a.tough act to follow. * v. MR. AND MRS JOHN MLADJEN of Ayalon celebrated their 50*h Wedding Anniversary last \yeek. They made a trip to Langhorne. Pa./where their family and many friends gave them a large and lovely reception. (Page 13 Please)
