DA'NETTEv O’RYAN of North Cape May and Missy Rea of West Cape May represented the county in this year's state 4-H fashion review in Woodbridge,'Sept. 12. Abput 90 girls statewide participated in the annual: event sponsored by the N-J 4 H Development Fund. ' The ev£nt showcases the talent's and accomplfshment*! of those who have excelled in the 'Hi clothing |pnd textiles program withm each county. Each of .the contestants had previously been win : ners id their* respective county competitions he'd from May to August. \ WITH THE increased use of wood-burning stoves and fireplaces it might be wise if the Township followed the lead of some kind of log-cutting ordinance. It was recently brought to the attention of the local Planning Board that people have been cutting trees and hauling theta out of the wooded area off Bayshore Rd. adjacent to the Breakwater Plaza and the Kechemeche development.^ * • • SEEMS THE frlG political question in everyone’s mind right now is whether or not the local Democratic organization will emerge from its shell

and officially endorse one of' the Committee' candidates in the upcoming election. But according to leader Pat C%lfina — as of last Saturday — jt doesn’t appear the party will try to field its own candidate. Instead, a move is on to establish a ’ Young Democrats Organization to rebuild the party from the ground up. i “This is something that’s been needed in the community a long time, Calfina said. “Younger members haven’t become involved in the past because/ they haven’t viewed the party as going anywhere." S MEANWHILE IN the Republican and Independent camps, candidates Tom Clydesdale and Jim Walker still haven’t of# ficially come out'with platforms that provide voters with a sense of where they stand on any local issues. Perhaps they want to surprise everyone after November 3. -CONGRATULATIONS are in store for\Mr. & Mrs. Harry Weimar of Weber Ave., Villas. The couple celebrated their 40pi wedding annive»-sary Sept. 6. Also on Sept. 6, township clerk Claudia Hammer celebrated a birthday.
