CAPE MAY POINT - Spring shorebird flights along the Delaware Bay shore will be the tome of Peter Dunne's ledture “Calidris Canutus and Kings" at 8 p.m. Saturday. Director of the N.J. Audubon Society’s Cape May Bird Observatory. Dunne has lectured over much of the Northeast and his articles are regular features in N.J Audubon Magazine and in Bird Watcher’s Digest. Each May, shorebirds heading north to breeding grounds in the Arctic from South America are drawn to the eggs deposited on the beaches of Cape May and
Cuniberland counties by Horseshoe or King Crabs. A survey conducted this spring by the CMBO, with ■ funding from the U.S. Fish apd Wildlife Service, documented the largest concentration of shorebirds in the continental U.S. Because of the potential for shipping Accidents in Delaware Bay, this concentration is the most vulnerable to disaster as well. CAPE MAY - the Taxpayers Association of Cape May, Inc. will hold it’s annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. this Friday at the Golden Eagle Motor I^xige here. The featured speaker will be Frank W. Haines, Executive Director of the New Jersey Taxpayers Association. Mr. Haines was employed by N.J.T.A. in 1951 as a research associate and in 1962 became director of research. He has served as executive direfctor since 1969. Mr. Haines will be speaking about the financial problems to be faced by the new governor as well as where New Jersey is headed in terms of taxes in the years ahead. MAC Donates Proceeds To Library
MRS. EMMA ELWE 1,1;.receives a check for 92.020.SS from Herb Beltel, president of fhe Mid-Atlantic Center For the Arts. This money, representing the gross receipts to MAC from all its activities over the labor Day weekend, was presented to the city library for the development of Its new children's section.
"Frank has had vast experience in state and local finance and we are looking forward to a large turnout for his talk." Mr. Clement Lisitski, attorney for the Hotel-Motel Association of Cape May, will be bringing members up-to-date on the litigation involving Cape May Greene and the City of Cape May, which had been filed by the Hotel-Motel Association. This suit was enjoined by the Taxpayers Association of Cape May and will be heard in court
soon.
Members will also be discussing current problems facing the City as well as electing directors at this annual meeting. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.
