results of the. chamber’s efforts to extend the season with the two weekly trips by the All American Travel Chib. He will also discuss the governing bodies' plan for trash separation and update the plans for the 96th st. bridge.

SEA ISLE CITY - Com missioner William J. ‘'Bill" Kehner. has filed petitions with the City Clerk to seek re-election to the Bogrd of Commissioners in the election Nov. 3. * . Kehner. first elected to the post in 1977. was the city’s second highest votegetter. He has served as Director of Public Safety for most of his term and has also served as Director of Public Works and been v the city’s chief labor ■ negotiator. * Kehner's roots in the city go back to when his parents first brought him to the resort as a three-week-old baby. His father was bom and raised in Sea Isle City. Growing up in the resort. ComYnissioner Kehner has always been involved * in community service.. He followed his Uncle Bill as a member of the Beach Patrol, and later served as a member 4>f the'Police .Department. In J969, Kehner was director of the City's Summer Basketball program, and later served
as a member of the Board of Education.-He was also a former housing inspector. 'for the city. KEHNER FIRST sought public office in 1973. when he entered the commission race, . only to tie with % former Mayor William Wilsey in the. vote count The election was decided by pulling one nhme front a box. Wilsey’s name was picked. In the 1977 race. Kehner came in second behind Mayor Raffa, with no contest. t Kehner is marrried to the former Cheryl Kivlin and has an adopted son. The Kehners recently announced they are expecting another child in the spring. Kehn<*. is president of The Cai>e May County League - of Municipalities and serves as secretary- ' treasurer of the Garden State Parkway local 196. and Secretary of The District 7 Welfare Fund for the Parkway. Mayor Dominic C. Raffa is serving as Kehner’s campaign manager.

SEA ISLE cYTY - William H. VanArtsdalen Jr. has announced his candidacy for City Commissioner at a press con^ ference.. [ He will campaign on a theme of "Decisive Leadership." He explained "Leadership is .necessary to make city government* responsive to the needs of all Its citizens.” ^ SOME FEATURES of his campaign positions include: holding down Lutes through efficient and effective management, planned community development reflecting good sense, restructing the resort’s image back\to a family town, attacking \ beach erosion and cost effective use of city services. He also endorses an expanded recreation program operating on
a year-around basts." VanArtsdalen has served as president of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and was responsible for last year’s . revitalized Christmas Parade. "I feel my current success as a young business man proves I can competently manage the cost of today’s government without burdening the taxpayer," VanArtsdalen said.
