ted. PLANNING BOARD vice chairman Robert Imler requested the developers consider relinquishing a portion of the land along Mickei's run to be included in the "Green Belt” concept suggested by the Township Environmental Commission earlier this year. The Commission has recommended that a minimum of 80 ft. on each side of the fldwway — or a larger where warranted by the presence of low-lying \Poco'moke soils, be preserved. Imler explained that the "green belt" concept is being pursued so there will be some land preserved in s Lower Township which people can follow all the way from the bay to the marshes. THE BOARD and the developers also discussed possible alternatives to the owheyship arid
maintenance of required open space and the potential traffic problems that may develop should necessary improvements not be made to Fire La. once the entire area Is developed. Township planner Joe Zahora noted that although Fire La. now doesn't require improvements, a - need for improvements will certainly be created by the increased development in the prejji. Fire Larte is currently an existing township dirt.road. The original plan for Holly Lakes called for 275 units. Variances would have been required for lot fronUfge, width, area and density. It would have been developed upder the R-3 zoning regulations whereby minimum lot sizes would have been 60 x 100 sq. ft. Less open space* would have been provided.

Assemblymen'
Hurely" and
Joseph W. Chinnici for their "Apathetic lack of • support on crucial water supply bills at a time when our residents suffered possible health hazards and loss of jobs from a severe shortage of water." Ricci and Woods, in a joint statement, charged that both Hurley and Chinnici failed to vote on key legislation, specifically the series of five water supply bills that provides (or a $350 million bond issue to f build new water supply facilities, rehabilitate older water supply systems and assures adequate service to homeowners from water

indifference to the people of South Jersey, as well as the restjjf this state," they
said.
Ricci and Woods pointed jt that at the time the water supply bills wefc presented in the .Assembly, in the fAIF of 1980, .drought conditions were at their
most severe.
"WHAT HURLEY AND Chinnici fail to realize is that safe and clean water also is a prerequisite to economic devplopment, Not only does the health of New Jersey's citizens depend in large measure on the state’s ability to assure a plentiful supply oi clean water, but the security of people’s jobs depends on it as well," the Democrats
said
Ricci and Woods also joined with Congressman James J. Fjorio in urging the voters of South Jersey to vote “yes" on the $350 million Water Supply Bond Act in November.
