Dp you wont Lower Township to be another Ocean City NO nVERRS.JIO CLUBS *% NO COCKTAILS IN RESTAURANTS / NO RETAIL LIQUOR STORES ■ Dry forces in the Township want everything olosed up tight! That's the real issue in the special question on bar closings at next Tuesday's election v Look how costly that would be: Lower Township would LOSE $400,000 in taxes and sewer rentals now paid annually by 26 licensees. . 9 Lower Township Schools would LOSE $200,000 of that amount. Lower Township would LOSE 1,200 Jobs. AND YOUR TAXES WOULD GO UP! Ocean City's blue laws also prohibit small businesses from operating, including grocerysfores and drug stores. The time to stop a move in this direction is NOW. VOTE "NO"

Just ask yourself, "Why are enemies of taverns, clubs and restaurants trying to destroy these businesses by restricting hours?"

The answer emerged at a public meeting last Wednesday when a spokesperson demanded that Lower Township become another Ocean City!

Police recommended present hours

Licensed taverns and clubs now close at 3 a.m. — year-rdund. Doors must be closed at 3 a.m. without fail. Only during four summer months are patrons permitted to remain until 5 a.m. — BUT ONLY IF THEY WERE INSIDE BY 3 A.M.

Lower Township po'ljce publicly urged Township Committee to adopt these hours. They said then that instead df pushing hundreds of people into the street all at the same time, a two hour period, from. 3 to 5 a.m., would allow patrons to leave gradually. ’

POLICE WERE RIGHT. IT WORKED OUT THE WAY THEY PREDICTED 1 So don’t change it now. Lower Township is a great resort area. Tourist spend literally millions of dollars in our economy. This pays for taxes and jobs. Play it Safe...Protect your own pocketbook
