"Our first priority will be to supply the jail kitchen with sUch basic items as beans, tomatoes,, lettuce and cucumbers. "Any excess goods will be offered to other county institution kitchens such as the Crest Haven Nursing Home, the Juvenile Shelter Home and the Vocational Technical School." FOST SAID that the double purpose of the farm project is to reduce'kitchen expenses by supplying the much used produce and Jail Shutout Protested
Sheets
WILDWOOD-Lt. Ralph Sheets, Democratic candidate for sheriff, is wondering if his opponent is hiding somethign behind the walls of the County Jail. Recently, Sheets felt it was about time he toured the courUy Jail. A representative of the Sheets campaign committee contacted Sheriff Beech Fox and asked for permission to tour the jail A complex. That request was flatly denied with no reason
given.
"WHAT IS FOX hiding?" asked Sheets. "There is no excuse to deny me a tour at a time convenient tohim. He allows grade school children to tour, police officers to touf, but not
me."
Sheets went on to say "Maybe Fox doesn’t want me to see the telephones the prisoners have, or listen to the FM music that’s piped into their cells, or watch their televisions (hat are quickly replaced when a ’prisoner’ smashes one. I won’t even bother them for a doughnut that guards travel every morning to Mister Donut for, to * pamper the prisoners."
By
vetetable type items and to keep as many prisoners busy working as possible. "Anything that can be> done using manual labor will be accomplished that way," Fox said. "Those of us with experience know full well that the greatest enemyof any penal system
is idle time."
Fox said he has been greatly assisted with the jail project by county agricultural agent John MacLeod as well as the senior staff at the Leesburg State Prison system, who maintain a large prison
farm.

Many of them will have a direct effect on the way we wHI live here in New Jersey for many/years to come, and I thought it important » have an open meeting to discuss these questions in a non-partisan wa y^ "THERE, IS AN im portant question on riparian claims by the
state, that if not passed, will give the state the right to claim nearly every property in Sea Isle. City. There is an important question concerning our senior citizens, another of frniing, plus several
others," Kphner continued.
’i am now attempting to line up some non-partisan specialists on each of these qdestions, so that the ballot questloas can be explained to the •satisfaction of everyone present." Kehner continued. "This meeting is Tor the sole purpose of explaining i the all important ballot questions, and no local partisan politics will be discussed "
